It’s so important to keep all of our skin in tip-top shape. Especially during the cold seasons. Thankfully I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve, for a smooth skin transition! More Tips for Keeping Your Skin Protected

It’s true that you need to treat your skin differently during the fall and winter months. Here are some more tips that can really help if your feeling extra dry:

  • Don’t take long showers. The longer you are in the shower the more moisture our skin looses. It sounds weird, but when water evaporates off of our skin, it takes some of the moisture that our skin is holding onto with it. And on that same note…
  • Don’t use super hot water while showering or bathing! This is a hard one for me, because when I’m cold I just want to turn that heat up and bake. But using hot water can lead to lots of moisture loss and dry skin problems.
  • Don’t shower every day. This is also another hard one for me. But I notice a huge difference in my skin when I only shower every other day. The moisture loss is real during the winter months and that cold, wet skin can get sucked of its moisture.
  • Moisturize directly after a bath or shower. The best time to drench your skin in your favorite body butter, cream or lotion (like that Weleda body butter I mentioned above 😉) is right after you shower or bathe. I like to gently towel-dry my skin and then go in with my moisturizer or body butter. I keep my Weleda body butter right next to my shower so I remember to do it right away, and so it’s convenient.
  • Re-Apply moisturizer throughout the day. This is kind of a no-brainer, but it’s definitely a helpful tip. I like to keep a small tube of moisturizer in my car and also in my kitchen for quick hand lubrication after I do the dishes.
