3 Reasons Why the Trader Joe’s Shampoo Bar is Better Than Kitsch
This post is a review of the Trader Joe’s Shampoo bar and has 3 reasons why it’s better than Kitsch shampoo bars.
If you haven’t hopped on the shampoo bar train yet, what are you waiting for? There are so many reasons to fall in love with this way of washing your hair. I made the switch about a year ago and haven’t looked back. My hair feels so much cleaner and stays that way for much longer with a shampoo bar vs liquid shampoos.
Most importantly for me, it was the fact that solid shampoo is made differently than regular shampoo. It’s a process called ‘saponification’. This is the process of how solid soap is made. It combines fats and salts to make a lathery and naturally cleansing solid form. You get a rich and naturally chemical-free lather with most solid soaps, meaning that they are usually sulfate, paraben, and phthalate-free.
I was having a horrible time with my hair falling out. I chalked it up to getting older and tried supplements and changing my diet, but nothing really worked. Once I switched to solid shampoo, my hair doesn’t fall out NEARLY as much as it used to! I’ve even tested this theory and the minute after I wash my hair with a liquid shampoo that contains sulfates (the ingredients responsible for that rich lather in most liquid shampoo and toothpaste) it starts to fall out at a rapid rate again.
Trader Joe’s Shampoo Bar Review
Ever since I made the switch to solid shampoo bars, I’ve been on the lookout for an affordable option that works well. These bars can be super pricy. When I found this shampoo bar at Trader Joe’s, I knew I had to try it!
When you first open the box, you are hit with a lovely and fresh peppermint scent. It isn’t overpowering at all which I love.
You then notice the cute tiny mint flakes inside the bar that give it a dimensional look. I’ve washed my hair with this bar so many times (I’m on my 5th bar!) and have never seen mint flakes in my hair, so no worries there.
When you hop into the shower to put this shampoo to use, an amazing thing happens. This thing lathers SO WELL. I’m talking lots of foaming action. Most shampoo bars don’t lather super well, which isn’t necessarily a game changer, but it’s definitely nice to have a rich lather when you’re washing your hair. It makes the product spread better and it honestly makes your hair feel squeaky clean.
I really love this shampoo bar. It’s refreshing, affordable, and just works well.
Why the Trader Joe’s Shampoo Bar is Better Than Kitsch
Ever since I made the switch to solid shampoo bars, I’ve been on the hunt for the best ones. I started out with Kitsch shampoo bars, and have since tried many more. I’ve landed on the Trader Joe’s shampoo bar, and here’s why it’s better:
1. It’s Cheaper!
The TJ’s shampoo bar retails for $3.99. Way better of a price than the Kitsch shampoo bar that comes in at $14.
2. There’s More Product
Each Trader Joe’s Shampoo Bar is 4 ounces which is more than the Kitch at only 3.2 ounces. So not only are you getting more product with TJ’s, it costs less as well.
3. It’s Fragrance-Free
I’m not bad-mouthing fragrance here, because I have my fair share of products with added fragrance. However, a lot of people are sensitive to fragrance and it can also be horrible for hormone health. So when you can use products that smell great naturally, it’s always a good thing! Trader Joe’s Shampoo Bar is scented with natural peppermint, tea tree, and eucalyptus oils, while Kitsch has added fragrance.
So next time you hit up Trader Joe’s grab a bar (or 2) and give it a try! I hope you like it as much as I do!
