Trader Joe’s Head to Toe Moisturizing Balm Review

Trader Joe’s Head to Toe Moisturizing Balm Review
Winter is upon us. Whether you like it or not, so is dry and flakey skin. There are many products out there that can help, and right now Trader Joe’s has their Head to Toe Moisturizing Balm in stock, ready for relief.
Cost and Claims
This balm retails for $3.99 and you get 2 ounces of product in a twist-lid tin. It claims to work wonderfully on chapped lips, dry elbows and knees, heels, over-washed hands and cuticles. It’s also great for fly-away hair or even fly-away beard.
Texture
When you try to get the product out of the tin, not much happens. This balm is very hard. You have to rub the top of the product to warm it up with your fingertips before you start to get anything off of it. once you do, there’s not a ton to work with. Thankfully a little bit goes a long way but it is extremely difficult to get out. I tried using a fingernail to scrape some off and that worked a little better but it still needed to be warmed up in order to be spread out onto the skin.
Smell
This balm is fragrance-free, however, it does have a light and not overpowered scent from the essential oils in the ingredient list. Oils like lavender, eucalyptus, rosemary, and orange peel all combine to give it an earthy and slightly citrusy scent that is actually very nice.
Ingredients
The first ingredient in this balm is Shea Butter. A rich and thick butter that is ultra-emollient. Beeswax is the next ingredient which is why this balm is so thick. After those key ingredients, you have some butters like mango butter and cocoa butter. Then there are a few oils to make it hydrating and lock in that moisture barrier even further. There is coconut oil, macadamia seed oil, and apricot kernel oil in the formulation.
Overall the ingredient list is really good and I love that it’s super clean and doesn’t have any harsh chemicals or synthetic fragrances.
Final Thoughts
I really like this product. I think it’s a great value, considering that a similar product like Dr. Bronner’s Organic Magic Balm retails for around $13. It has a nice, soothing scent that isn’t irritating. I love the cute tin that it comes in and the balm iteself is super hydrating and not overly greasy. Id say, if you suffer from dry, flakey skin during the winter months, it’s worth it to grab onewhile they have them! They tend to fly off the shelves, so stopping by Trader Joe’s soon is ideal!
