Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Review: a Dupe for Farmacy Honey Halo?
This post is a Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Review. I’ll be comparing this new Day & Night cream duo to the Farmacy Honey Halo!
Trader Joe’s just came out with a NEW beauty product and I could not wait to try it out. I saw it while I was shopping at my Trader Joe’s and it instantly reminded me of the Farmacy Honey Halo! The wood lid topping off a glass hexagon-shaped jar is a near identical match to the Farmacy cream. But, is this new addition to the Trader Joe’s beauty lineup a Farmacy Honey Halo dupe? Read on for my Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Review to find out!
Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Review
The new Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration is a Day and Night cream duo. Each cream comes in a hexagon-shaped jar with a light wood lid. Each jar has 1.8 ounces of product (50g) and it costs $7.99 for the pair.
The Day cream is formulated with hyaluronic acid, manuka honey, and ceramides. It is a white shade and has a very faint scent of honey. This cream is lightweight and sinks into the skin effortlessly. It feels hydrating without being too heavy.
The Night cream is formulated with sea buckthorn, shea butter, and manuka honey. This cream is a pale yellow shade and has the same faint scent of honey as the Day cream. This cream is slightly richer in texture and feels a bit more luxurious than the Day cream.
Both of these creams are very hydrating and smell divine. I love that the day cream is less heavy and feels nice and lightweight on the skin. Alternatively, the Night cream is the perfect consistency for bedtime. I like my night creams to feel a bit richer so that they stay on my skin a little longer to lock in that moisture barrier.
Is the Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration a Dupe for Farmacy Honey Halo?
Undoubtedly the Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration is trying to look like the Farmacy Honey Halo. With only a few small differences in the packaging of the products as well as the shade of the Night cream, these products could pass as the same with a quick glance. Let’s compare these products to see if they are a match!
Farmacy Honey Halo ingredients are some of the best for an ultimate luxury nighttime moisturizer. Ceramides and honey provide protection to the skin’s moisture barrier while Fig Fruit Extract leaves skin looking plump and supple. It’s a favorite amongst those of us with aging and dry skin.

Here’s how the TJ’s Honey Hydration Compares to the Farmacy Honey Halo:
Scent: All 3 of these products offer a very similar and faint honey scent. I love how they smell and honestly can’t tell a huge difference from one to another.
Ingredients: Obviously the most notable ingredient in these products would be the honey! Farmacy Honey Halo is formulated with Buckwheat Honey while TJ’s night cream has Manuka Honey in it. The difference between the 2 honey’s is minimal and should tout similar hydrating results when used on the skin.
Other ingredients that are the same between these 2 product lineups are:
Ceramides (TJ’s Honey Hydration Day cream and Night cream)
Shea Butter (TJ’s Honey Hydration Night Cream)
Triglycerides (TJ’s Honey Hydration Day cream and Night cream)
Glycerine (TJ’s Honey Hydration Day cream and Night cream)
Texture: The texture of the Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Night cream vs. the Farmacy Honey Halo is a bit different. I would say that both of these creams are very hydrating, but the Farmacy is slightly more so. Farmacy is also a bit “silkier” and smooths on just a bit more luxuriously than the Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration Night cream. It is also a slightly thicker formula. Once applied and massaged into the skin, both of these products feel rich and hydrating.
Price: This is where we can see a big difference between the 2 products! At only $7.99 for a Day cream AND a Night cream, Trader Joe’s is super affordable. They are high-quality glass jars that are in a cute hexagon shape. They feel expensive and more luxurious than $4 a piece for sure!!
Farmacy Honey Halo retails for $48.00 for the same amount of product as just one of the TJ’s creams in the $7.99 duo. While the packaging of the Farmacy Honey Halo is a bit better (thicker glass, frosted glass and beefier lid), I don’t think the price jump justifies a slightly nicer jar.
Overall: Do I think that the Trader Joe’s Honey Hydration is a dupe for the Farmacy Honey Halo? It depends. The main ingredients are there. The scent is there. The packaging is there. The texture isn’t exact, but does that justify a $40 price difference? I don’t think so. In my opinion, the TJ’s creams are a great value and the duo together gets you 90% there to being a Farmacy Honey Halo dupe.
