This post has 3 reasons to be obsessed over the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask.

Trader Joe's pumpkin face mask

It’s Pumpkin Spice season, and that means that Trader Joe’s has all of the pumpkin things hitting their stores! One of the best is the Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask. Today we’ll be breaking down why this mask is so good.

3 Reasons to be Obsessed Over Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask

Pumpkin is the scent of the season, and I’m here for it! When I walked down the isles at Trader Joe’s it got me in the harvest mood. All of their pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, pancake mixes, yogurts, and more. This year I was quick to add the Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask to my cart and had to try it out right away! The Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask is a gel-based overnight treatment with pumpkin extract, papaya enzymes, and squalane. Here are the 3 reasons why I love it, and you should too!

1. The SMELL!!!

Undoubtedly the first thing you’ll notice when you open the jar is the yummy pumpkin smell! It’s hypnotic how good this Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask smells. It’s like a really good-smelling pumpkin candle without the waxy undertones. You seriously go to bed smelling like a pumpkin spice cloud, and it’s divine!

2. The Ingredients

I’m a total ingredient snob, so when I checked out the ingredients of this mask, I was pleasantly surprised. The most notable ingredients include:

Pumpkin Extract. This ingredient is perfect for an overnight mask. Pumpkin contains Vitamins A, C, and E, and antioxidants, which help fight sun damage and wrinkles. The fruit enzymes in pumpkin help naturally exfoliate dead skin cells. It also contains zinc and potassium to combat redness.

Papaya Extract. Papaya is a natural moisturizer that helps fade away pigmentation. It lightens and fades dark spots, treats acne, and aids in soothing inflammation and irritation. The benefits of using papaya on your skin are pretty intense and results are usually visible with only a few uses.

Squalane Oil. Squalane is a saturated oil that’s used in skin care products as a moisturizer. It helps increase hydration, and thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties it can also help with acne and eczema. It occurs naturally in our body, but the amount that is in our skin diminishes as we age, making it the perfect ingredient to use in a mask.

Glycolic Acid. Glycolic acid is a common ingredient in many skin care products. Especially anti-aging products. It supports collagen production, protects the skin against sun damage, and prevents pores from getting blocked by gently exfoliating the top layer of the skin.

Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid is a water-loving ingredient. It can absorb the water molecules in the air and draw them into the skin. It helps skin stretch and flex and reduces skin wrinkles and lines. Hyaluronic acid is also proven to help wounds heal faster and can reduce scarring.

3. The Results

Given the ingredient list, it’s no wonder that this mask gives great results. You will wake up with smoother and more hydrated skin than when you went to bed. All of the ingredients work together to hydrate, exfoliate, and improve texture. The box says to use this mask 2-3 times per week, and I think that’s good advice. With the Glycolic acid in this product, you won’t want to be using it nightly.

Other Things to Love About the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask

Other things to love about this face mask are:

-It comes in a glass jar! The jar is so nice and heavy. It feels very sturdy and the frosted glass is very pretty!

-It’s affordable! This Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask is so affordable. It’s only $7 at my Trader Joe’s. Compared to the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask I’d say that’s a great deal!

Things That Aren’t so Great About the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Overnight Face Mask

Not everything about this mask is pumpkin heaven. Here are some reasons why it’s not exactly the best thing in the world:

-It was pretty sticky at first. This mask took a bit to sink into the skin. I’d say it was about 20 minutes until it felt absorbed enough to not stick to my pillowcase. My skincare routine is the last thing I do, so it was kind of annoying that it felt sticky for so long.

-It’s only available at Trader Joe’s stores, and only during fall. I’m all about online shopping, and the fact that this isn’t available online is a bummer. Such is life with all Trader Joe’s products. Maybe someday they’ll find a way to make it easy for people who don’t live close to a store to get their products, but in the meantime, it’s not ideal.
